In September of 2014, Producer and Director Kiersten Chace was invited to a private academic conference in Hanover Germany 'Migrating the Black Body: The African Diaspora and Visual Culture' where she and photojournalist Rushay Booysen presented their visual arts projects regarding Coloured South African identity. The presentation was by far the most intense discussion of the conference but was respectful in their critique and many of the professors stated they never knew the Coloured community existed. So mission accomplished!
The end result of this conference is a book of the same title written by Leigh Raiford and Heike Raphael-Hernandez which includes all of the presentations at this conference. We are extremely proud to have our film 'I'm Not Black, I'm Coloured' and the presentation in this academic book. Release date tbd 2016.
